North Carolina adds additional LS630-WIM™ Scales for Vehicle Enforcement

Minneapolis, MN - Intercomp’s LS630-WIM™ portable scale systems have been selected by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, adding to their existing portable scales which meet the requirements for Low-Speed Weigh-In-Motion (LSWIM) vehicle screening and direct enforcement for vehicle weights.

“The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has been using these systems for years,” says Jon Arnold, Market Specialist at Intercomp, “and we’re pleased that the proven performance of the LS630-WIM™ scales has led to additional sets being acquired to further increase the Highway Patrol’s commercial vehicle enforcement capabilities.”

Easily transported in the back of a state vehicle, the LS630-WIM™ systems consist of two scales, a set of ramps, and an indicator. Deployed in locales where fixed weigh stations don’t exist, the scale systems are used in LSWIM mode for screening for axle and gross vehicle weight violations, and are NTEP certified in static mode for issuing citations for overweight conditions.
