OIML R134 WIM Certification for Intercomp’s LS-WIM Axle Scale

Minneapolis – Intercomp’s LS-WIM Axle Scale is now OIML R134 Certified for use in Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) applications. Installed in vehicle lanes for low-speed weight enforcement for axle and gross vehicle weights, the scale is certified to Class 2 accuracy up to 5 mph (8 km/h).
Already NTEP certified in the US for static mode, the OIML certified scale features a weighing capacity of 44,000 lb (20,000 kg) per axle which allows users to easily weigh heavy commercial vehicles. Incorporating fully electronic load cells, the scale uses technology that actively compensates for temperature resulting in fast, stable and repeatable weighing. The LS-WIM scales can operate as a standalone system with an indicator situated for driver input, or via a CPU which reports the weight data for integration into other operating systems with cameras or other sensors.
Intercomp’s LS-WIM Scale is installed in a frame 12.5 in (0.32 m) deep, and covers the entire width of the vehicle lane. At 13 feet (3.96 m) wide, the platform is about 1 meter wider than other OIML certified scales, allowing virtually any sized over-the-road vehicle to easily pass over the axle scale. The intelligent scale design simplifies periodic maintenance procedures such as cleaning frame drains in conjunction with calibration, which decreases time allotted for these procedures. Installed in permanent weigh stations, the LS-WIM Axle Scale provides certified performance while keeping traffic moving, minimizing queues and saving time for both scale and vehicle operators.
