Intercomp's LS788-WIM™ Portable Weigh-In-Motion Scale is now NTEP-certified for commercial vehicle weight enforcement!
The LS788-WIM™ System is Intercomp’s latest low-profile, high-performance strain gauge portable scale, built for easy setup, accurate field use, and convenient transport. Used along with roll-up portable ramps, the system measures just 0.87 inches (22 mm) in height and can easily weigh vehicles either statically or in motion.
A complete weighing system based on LS788™ scales can be deployed by one person in under 15 minutes and fits easily in the back of a vehicle, making it ideal for rapid use at mobile enforcement sites. The large weighing surface allows for sure fire contact for all wheel sizes. It features standard RFX® wireless-ready communication, enabling the system to send weight data to RFX®-enabled indicators, displays, CPUs, or PCs from up to 300 feet (90 meters) away. This allows multiple scales to operate simultaneously while keeping enforcement personnel safely away from moving vehicles. The LS788-WIM™ scales are completely wireless which means quicker set up and nothing can get tangled or yanked out from connections. Powered by solar power and batteries, enforcement personnel never have to worry about losing power in the field.
The foundation of the LS788-WIM™ Scale System is Intercomp’s robust, proven strain gauge technology, offering superior field dependability, accuracy, and ease of operation. With a total system capacity up to 22,000 lb (9,979 kg), the scales are deployed in a pair of easily transportable, aerospace-grade aluminum platforms that are solid-state, and offer wireless communication in reliable, solar-powered rechargeable operation.
Providing both in-motion and static weighing, the LS788-WIM™ delivers accuracy of 2% to 3% dynamically at speeds of up to 10 mph (16 km/h) and exceptional ± 0.5% static weighing precision. The 35 inch (89 cm) wide low-profile scale platforms allow the LS788-WIM™ to handle dual-tired axles with ease.
