LS630-WIM™ Awarded OIML R134 Certification

Minneapolis, MN – Intercomp, the world’s largest manufacturer of portable vehicle weighing and measurement products, announces OIML R134 certification of its LS630-WIM™ portable system for use in low-speed Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) applications. OIML R134 certification indicates a level of repeatable accuracy that provides a legal foundation for automatic weight enforcement. The LS630-WIM™ is also NTEP Class IIII Certified for Direct Enforcement in static mode and functions as a portable weigh-in-motion station for enforcement screening in dynamic mode.
“The Intercomp LS630-WIM™ Weigh-In-Motion Scales provide the ability for authorities to quickly deploy screening for enforcement or direct enforcement to areas not served by permanent weigh stations,” said Jon Arnold, Market Specialist at Intercomp. “OIML R134 and NTEP Certifications awarded to this portable solution validates the high levels of dynamic and static accuracy delivered by Intercomp’s strain gauge technology.”
The scale system can be set up in just 10 minutes and delivers 2-3% dynamic accuracy in low-speed WIM applications and 0.5% accuracy in static mode.
The system consists of two scales and a pair of roll up ramps, delivering a highly portable solution that fits in the trunk of a vehicle. With certified capacity up to 30 tons (40,000 kg) per axle and 150% overload protection, the scales each feature an large 15-inch x 31-inch weighing platform to accommodate super-single and dual-tire wheels. The durable roll-up ramps maintain adjacent axle groups on-level with one another and make it easier for vehicles to drive onto and off the scales. The portable solution offers Intercomp’s RFX® wireless or cabled indicator options, as well as AC/DC power including rechargeable battery operation.
In attaining OIML R134 WIM certification, the Intercomp LS630-WIM™ joins the company’s LS-WIM™ Axle Scale and WIM Strip Sensors as OIML certified products, offering a suite of products for portable and fixed WIM applications worldwide, ranging from direct screening and weight enforcement to high-speed automated toll collection in Intelligent Transportation Systems.
