Weighing Bulk Materials for Shipping
Weighing of boxes and palleted products for shipping is a common practice. When faced with irregularly shaped products that are difficult to weigh by standard methods, portable scales provide accurate weights, eliminating estimations and potential errors.
Having accurate weights enables logistics to better plan shipping methods, and helps ensure higher levels of safety for material handlers and shippers throughout the supply chain.
Shipping products overseas entails compliance with SOLAS (Safety of Life At Sea) requirements for accurate and verified weight of materials to be shipped. With an accuracy of 0.1%, Intercomp’s portable SW™ scales, and PT300™ scales, can wirelessly measure the weight of non-standard cargo. Multiple scale pads can be placed under the item to be shipped, in a variety of configurations, resulting in highly accurate measurement.
SW™ Series and PT300™ portable scale systems are made for weighing everything, including oversized crates, large machinery, irregular-sized objects, shipping containers, mobile homes or virtually any other object to be shipped. Either product is ideal to ensure weight limits are not exceeded, establish accurate information for consumers and reduce stress on equipment.
