New Features of AX900™ Axle Scales Facilitate Easy Maintenance

One of the largest specialty steel service centers in the United States, in its commitment to optimizing truck operations, has incorporated scales as a value-added service for truck drivers. The purpose is to provide drivers with precise load weight information in-house. Previously, their truck scale was situated within a pit, a design choice that ultimately created drainage challenges. The persistent lack of an efficient way to extract the plates from the pits for maintenance led to load cell problems and eventual scale failure.

This addition supports easier maintenance and, more importantly, helps prevent moisture accumulation within the pits, directly addressing the site’s drainage shortcomings.

Distinguished by its rugged construction, AX900™ weigh bridges are available in multiple sizes, capacities, and configurations, making them suitable for weighing dual- or multi-axle vehicles when a permanent scale setup is not feasible. Stainless steel, hermetically sealed shear beam load cells enhance the system’s ability to accurately weigh loads up to 180,000 lb (80,000 kg) with an impressive precision of ±0.1%.

With wireless operation and seamless communication between various devices, the AX900™ Axle Scale System provides a complete solution for collecting axle weights, group weights, and Gross Vehicle Weights. Calibration is stored at the scale, providing users with interchangeability of all components.
