Central American Port - Puerto Cortés, Honduras Installs Weigh-In-Motion Container Weighing Systems

Intercomp recently partnered with Puerto Cortés in Honduras for the installation of Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) systems.  The integrated systems are monitoring vehicle and container weights for Method 1 SOLAS compliance at the gate of the port complex.

LS630 Application Note: Florida DOT Utilized Intercomp Portable Scales for Static, In-Ground Use

The Florida DOT had a static weight enforcement site out of commission, so they utilized portable scales for static, in-ground use.  LS630 portable scales were deployed at a permanent weigh station to gather legal (static) weights for multiple weeks, allowing for weight enforcement with the NTEP approved scales and weighing indicator.

Economical SOLAS Solutions for Shippers

Overweight containers have been an issue for years, so in order to make vessel stowage planning more efficient and safer, SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) rules requiring a Verified Gross Mass (VGM) of containers  prior to the containers being loaded onto ships have been issued. These requirements protect the terminal operator employees as well as the vessel and its cargo, and go into effect July 1, 2016.

Intercomp Wireless Scales Dominate Daytona 500

In an exciting finish in the 2016 Daytona 500, the Joe Gibbs Racing FedEx #11 Team took the checkered flag, the first Daytona 500 win for driver, Denny Hamlin. Throughout the race Hamlin and fellow teammate, Matt Kenseth, lead a total 135 of the 200 laps to demonstrate the dominance of JGR on the track.
